We do not own or rent the whole building that our escape rooms are located in. We ask that all players respect the other tenants of the building by remaining quiet while in the common areas of the building and while in the room trying not to act in a way that would cause disturbances to other people in the building. Short answer: Arriving 10 minutes or so before your start time would be great as that would allow our games master plenty of time to set the scene and help you immerse yourself into the experience once you’ve completed the boring signing in and paperwork section of the game.   Long answer: Arriving about 10 minutes earlier than your sessions start time would keep our operation flowing smoothly. Now, I know that the smoothness of what we are doing here is probably the last thing you personally care about but if everyone decides to ignore our operation smoothing system then what you will encounter when you arrive is likely to be rough. VERY rough! So rough in fact that you will feel like you’ve been cheese grated by the end of the experience. And that is not the way that people should feel after anything!

Short answer: Rooms can be attempted by groups of 2-8 depending on which room you choose.   Long answer: Excellent question budding escape room user! The convention at the vast majority of escape room premises is that games are for 2-8 players and we absolutely stick to this convention for now. If you were to attempt a room alone then you would most likely fail to escape in time as a lot of puzzles can be solved faster with multiple people and some rooms actually require two people to achieve some form of task. At the other end of the spectrum if you had 70 players then nobody would be able to move and you’d probably set a new world record for escaping as the pressure of all those people squished into a small room would pop the door off its hinges! Now this convention may be changed in future depending on what rooms we open. Maybe there will be one that can be completed by one person. Maybe there will be one that shouldn’t have more than 3 players for some reason. Maybe we’ll acquire a warehouse and build the ultimate giant escape room that can be played with 40 people. Who knows what the future will bring! But for now we will stick with the 2-8 player standard.

Short answer: Water, and appropriate clothing for the weather conditions. Long Answer: We have air con in all of our rooms to try our best to keep you cool whilst puzzle solving! That being said, sometimes it can still get toasty in the rooms (especially ones that don't have windows). Make sure to bring some type of hydration with you whilst in the room, or at least a bottle as you can ask your Games Master to fill it up. Also dress to be cool and comfortable, I wouldn't recommend a ski jacket when the sun is out.

Short answer: Comfortable, warm and appropriate clothing. Long Answer: We have heaters in all our rooms to try keep you as warm as possible during the puzzle solving, but sometimes you'll need to step away from the heater or you won't solve many puzzles. Bring warm clothes with you, as our rooms can get pretty cold in the Winter. We would much rather you take some clothes off when you feel too warm, then not have enough clothes and be freezing.

Short answer: Rooms are priced on a per person basis. They range from £30 per person for a group of 2 to £21 per person for a group of 8.   Long answer: Each rooms cost can be found on its page. If we release a room made entirely out of gold then we would need to charge a lot for people to play that room! However in general rooms are priced on a per person basis so while you need to pay more for more people to play it is cheaper per person. You can expect our rooms to range from £30 – £21 per person unless we really do make a gold room!

Short answer: Unfortunately we do not have wheelchair access.   Long answer: Our rooms are located on the top floor of a possibly listed building and we are renting so cannot update the property for wheelchair access.

Short answer: We ask that all players try to arrive ten minutes before the start of their experience. This way if there is a slight delay then you are still on time. If you are unavoidably detained then we would appreciate being contacted so that we know what is going on and can advise you of what we can do.   Long answer: Well that depends on how late you are. If you turn up 6 weeks after the time at midnight then I’m afraid you’re probably not going to get a chance to play. If it’s ten minutes or so then there should be no problem. We do ask that everyone tries their best to arrive 10 minutes before the booked time but we also understand that there are things that are out of your control. If a herd of buffalo block the road then there will be traffic. If your friend spiked your food with extra strength laxatives so you were in the bathroom all night and slept in. If your arm gets trapped in a vending machine. These things happen and they can really mess up your timing. So don’t worry about it. If however you will be running more than 10 minutes late we would appreciate if you could Contact Us and inform us and then we can assess the situation. If there is no booking directly after yours then it’ll be absolutely fine unless you’re so late it runs into the next booked slot. If there is a booking after yours then unfortunately we will have to reschedule the appointment. I know that would be a bit of a poor end to your already stressful day after whatever issue caused your delay but on the plus side this policy does protect you from having to wait around if you manage to arrive on time.

It’s a lovely little university city which unfortunately has barely any entertainment prospects and so an escape room is the perfect diversion to keep the locals out of trouble and bring in some tourist money in the hopes that more ventures like this can open up around here. If you head on over to the contact page you can see a map of our location. Google maps doesn’t seem to want to put the pin in the exact location and has opted to point at an independent school instead. We are not located there so do not attempt to enter that building unless you want to be arrested! We are located across the road from where the pin is pointing.

Short answer: Yes.   Long answer: At this moment in time, yes, you will need a reservation. Random people walking in off the street may work just fine for supermarkets and other shops but we don’t sell things. When nobody has booked a room we will be sitting on a beach somewhere with a nice glass of ginger beer and a good book. Not sitting around in the building hoping that some random people appear and ask for us to lock them up. If, however, you’re asking this question in the hopes that you can book in some way other than using this website and want to pay in cash then contact us to ask. We use a cashless system so we may require you to bring exact cash if we can book you in this way.

Short answer: Preferably comfortable clothing that doesn’t restrict you.   Long answer: You can wear whatever you want. Certain clothing may be a bad idea however. If you came in wearing an inflatable sumo costume then you’d fail to escape as you’d get stuck in the doorway. The physical aspects may destroy a three piece suit. A mascot costume with a giant head would restrict your vision and make spotting clues much harder.

Short answer: Our building is in the town centre and thus has many car parks nearby. Our building is next door to a multistore car park.   Long answer: That’s not a question! But I’ll answer it anyway. There are a lot of car parks nearby. They are all pay and display which isn’t good for those of you who don’t particularly enjoy paying for parking. There are a few supermarkets nearby that offer some free parking time. A little bit farther away there are residential streets if you have no qualms about making people walk a little farther to reach their house.

Short answer: You don’t need to bring anything with you.   Long answer: Nothing at all! Within reason obviously. You must bring clothes, we’re not a nudist colony! You also must bring the other players as not bringing them would be mean and a waste of money. If you’ve somehow contacted us and asked to pay cash then obviously you need to bring that too. We ask that no mobile phones or recording equipment be taken into the rooms and we provide a locker for you to keep those items in while you are in the room. We also ask that you bring your A-game, while we do provide hints if you’re completely baffled by the experince, we’re not going to hold your hand and guide you through every single action you need to take. Also we won’t say no if you decide to bring us gifts.
